Dear visitor,

I'm an amateur arachnologist from Belgium. One of my hobbies is the study of spiders living in this country. I know only little about the spiders outside Europe. So it's useless to send me questions about specific American, Asian or African spiders. Most of the time I can't answer them. I don't keep spiders as pets, since I believe they must live in freedom. For questions about keeping tarantula's or other spiders, I refer to the sections about these animals.

Maybe you can help me to improve this pages.
I'm looking for all kinds of arachnological sites on the Internet : information, databases, pictures, movies, files etc. If you know of any interesting locations, please let me know!

If you have a site dealing with arachnids, please tell me so I can put a link to it.

Remark for publishers and authors of books about arachnids

I started this website in 1995 and put a lot of work in it. At the beginning it was located on the servers of the Antwerp University where I worked at that time. Since a while however The Arachnology Home Page is on another server and I have to pay for it.

Therefore I look for ways to recuperate at least some of the costs I make. One way I can do this is by requesting to send me free copies of newly published books. For me this is also a way to feel that all the effort I take to make The Arachnology Home Page a useful source of information for all who are interested in arachnids is appreciated.

So I offer you the following options:

- if you want a link to the website that contains info about your book, just send the address to me and I place the link in the book section for free

- if you don't have a website with this info, send the info to me and I put it in the book section for free

- if you also want a picture of the cover of the book in the book section, send me a free copy and I gladly put it there

Please keep in mind that only books about arachnids will be included !
