Hi Kids!

Most of the information listed on the pages about societies and clubs is written for scientist. Although these groups will allow you to become a member you may find many of their newsletters and journals difficult to read and understand as they are written for scientists by scientists. But, there is a group for almost any age or education level.

The Bug Club is a good starting point. This club is devoted to promoting "Creepy Crawlies" to kids and the young at heart, they have members as young as 3 and as old as 70! They produce a quarterly newsletter containing interesting articles, games, puzzles and other fun things to do associated with insects, spiders, scorpions and all sorts of other "bugs." In addition, they also organize "Bug Events," for example Pond Dips, Butterfly Walks, Beetle Hunts and visits to Natural History Museums. The Bug Club is a non-profit making organization run by students at the University of Exeter (in England) on a voluntary basis. Yearly membership is 5 pounds sterling for UK members and 10 pounds sterling for Over-seas members (the extra five pounds covers the additional over-seas postage costs). If you are young or young at heart and interested in "Creepy Crawlies" then this is the club for YOU. Even if you can not afford to join you should visit their home page.

When you are finished reading this page you can go back to the main pages and look for items marked . These groups are generally not as technical, but still may contain information that is difficult to understand. Again, do not feel that you are not welcome with any group. This is simply a to guide to help you find the better starting points.
